Dog Training

Agility is an exciting sport for dogs and their owners – however, did you know that most people give up after the first few weeks – not because their dog can’t jump or weave but because the dog cannot be controlled when off lead.

In order to be successful at negotiating an agility course your dog needs to be able to ignore the other dogs around it and stay focused on you, come back when it is called, stay at the start line and on contact points and develop the skill of listening to you whilst moving at high speed.

This foundation agility course aims to give you and your dog these skills BEFORE you join an agility class making you much more likely to succeed.

The course is open to all dogs that are fully vaccinated and do not display aggression towards other dogs or people (your dog will be working off lead at some points during the class). Dogs of all sizes and ages (for very young dogs please contact us to discuss) are welcome; however bitches in season will not be able to attend. If you would like to try agility but are concerned that your dog shows aggressive/reactive tendencies then private and small group lessons are available.

Foundation Agility Courses will be held in The Scout Hall, off Castle Road, Newton Mearns and will run on Monday evenings over 6 weeks, the cost for each six week block will be £60.

Our Next Block will be starting on Monday 3rd of May at  8.15pm, if you wish to take part part please contact me asap as these courses fill quickly.

Now that our Foundation Agility classes are well under way we have written a short report (including pictures and video) on how the classes are going. Please click here to read more.
